Role Description
ASI is looking for a Director of Product Design to lead Product Design across ASIβs software portfolio, building a coherent user experience strategy and a practical design function that helps teams solve customer problems. The Director will lead an existing team of designers and partner closely with Product and Engineering to modernize complex enterprise workflows while maintaining usability, accessibility, and consistency.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on expertise in Figma, UXPin, design systems, research, and enterprise interaction design with the ability to coach a team and influence senior leaders. They should actively use AI-assisted design and rapid prototyping tools such as Claude and Lovable to accelerate exploration and validation, while ensuring designs remain usable, accessible, and aligned with ASIβs established components and patterns.
Qualifications
-
8+ years in digital product design, including 3+ years leading designers or design teams.
-
Experience modernizing complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software products with substantial workflows, configurations, and user roles.
-
Strong portfolio demonstrating user research, interaction design, information architecture, and measurable product outcomes.
-
Deep hands-on proficiency with Figma and UXPin (or comparable enterprise design and prototyping tools), including component libraries, interactive prototypes, design systems, and developer handoff.
-
Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted design and rapid prototyping tools (such as Claude, Lovable, or similar) to test ideas quickly and translate concepts into usable, validated product experiences.
-
Ability to influence senior stakeholders, mentor designers, and balance speed, consistency, accessibility, and customer needs.
-
Experience with association management, membership, nonprofit, CRM, or enterprise administrative software.
-
Experience designing across multiple acquired products or shared platform components.
-
Experience integrating AI-generated prototypes with existing design systems, production UI components, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
-
Leading, coaching, and developing ASIβs product designers; establishing clear ownership, design standards, and effective collaboration with portfolio product teams.
-
Defining a portfolio-wide UX vision that respects individual product needs while creating shared patterns and a consistent experience where it adds customer value.
-
Owning the evolution and adoption of a scalable design system, reusable components, interaction patterns, and accessible design practices in partnership with Engineering.
-
Leading research and usability validation with association staff, administrators, members, implementation partners, and other key users.
-
Partnering with Engineering and Product on modernization initiatives to simplify complex workflows and reduce friction without treating cosmetic redesign as the only goal.
-
Creating a pragmatic design operating model: early discovery, rapid prototyping, customer validation, and appropriately detailed design handoff.
-
Using qualitative and quantitative evidence to prioritize usability improvements and measure task success, adoption, customer effort, and design-system reuse.
-
Championing AI-assisted design and rapid prototyping to accelerate discovery, concept exploration, usability testing, and iteration; evaluate tools such as Claude, Lovable, and similar AI design/build platforms while grounding outputs in ASIβs design system and maintaining human design judgment.
-
Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
