Role Description

As the Communication Designer at Upsun, you are the guardian of our visual identity and the engine behind our brand’s daily expression. You bridge the gap between high-level brand strategy and tactical execution, ensuring that every touchpoint, from digital campaigns to internal assets, is cohesive, polished, and impactful. Your work doesn't just make things look good; it builds trust with our technical audience and clarifies our complex value proposition through world-class design.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can balance "doing" with "directing." Whether you are getting your hands dirty in Figma or providing critical feedback to our external agency partners, you ensure our brand remains consistent, modern, and scalable. You are a visual storyteller who understands that in the tech space, clarity is the ultimate form of sophistication.

In this role, you report directly to the Head of Brand and Communications and serve as a cross-functional partner to Marketing, Product, Sales, Engineer, and People teams.

What to expect

• Lead Daily Design Execution:
  • Produce high-fidelity visual assets for social media, website components, sales enablement decks, and digital advertising.
• Translate Technical Concepts:
  • Partner with Product Design to turn complex technical workflows into simplified, "marketing-ready" UI visualizations and original vector illustrations.
• Manage External Partners:
  • Act as the primary creative lead for external agencies and freelancers, providing actionable feedback and quality control to ensure output meets our brand standards.
• Evolve the Design System:
  • Maintain and expand our library of reusable design components and brand guidelines to ensure global scalability and consistency.
• Collaborate on Campaigns:
  • Work with Growth and Events teams to translate strategic briefs into high-performing visual assets that drive engagement and conversion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a brand designer or art director, ideally within a B2B tech environment or a fast-paced creative agency.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), along with comfort using Google Workspace and Slack.
• A proven ability to work with and evolve complex brand systems and component libraries across diverse formats.
• Exceptional skills in vector design and the ability to translate abstract cloud concepts into visuals that resonate with a developer audience.
• Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume requests via project management tools like ClickUp, prioritizing tasks based on business impact.
