Role Description
The founder is currently the bottleneck. Client demand is there, but every video still runs through one person, and the studio can't grow until someone else can take a concept from conversation to finished cut.
This is not a traditional editing seat. In AI video, the lines between creator, writer, shooter, and editor collapse, and this person will work across all of them. You'll hear the idea, shape the story, generate the shots, and edit it into something people actually watch.
You don't need to be an AI prompting expert on day one. Our system handles much of the prompt writing. What we can't teach is storytelling instinct and taste, and that is what this hire is really about.
Key Responsibilities
-
Story & Concept Development:
-
Turn a short creative conversation or brief with the founder into a clear concept, hook, and story arc for each video.
-
Write or refine scripts, scene breakdowns, and shot lists for short-form social.
-
Bring your own ideas, angles, and trend reads to the table rather than waiting for direction.
-
AI Video Generation:
-
Generate scenes, characters, and shots with AI video and image tools (Higgsfield, Seedance, and similar), working from the studio's prompt system.
-
Iterate on prompts and outputs until each shot matches the creative intent, keeping characters and visual style consistent across a piece.
-
Track new model and tool releases and recommend what the studio should adopt.
-
Editing & Post-Production:
-
Edit AI-generated and live footage into finished, platform-ready cuts: pacing, transitions, sound design, music, captions, and on-screen text.
-
Deliver multiple aspect ratios and hook variations for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
-
Keep project files and the asset library organized so work can be revisited and reused.
-
Performance & Studio Workflow:
-
Review how content performs and apply what you learn to hooks, length, and pacing.
-
Manage several projects at once and hit agreed turnaround times.
-
Document repeatable workflows and templates as the studio adds people.
Qualifications
-
A reel or portfolio of short-form social video you edited, showing strong hooks and clear storytelling.
-
2+ years editing video for social media, organic content, or marketing.
-
Proficiency in at least one professional editing tool (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or Final Cut Pro).
-
Proven ability to take a loose brief and return a strong first version without step-by-step direction.
-
Strong written and spoken English, comfortable talking through creative ideas on a call.
-
Genuine interest in AI video tools and the ability to pick up new ones quickly.
-
Reliable internet and a computer capable of handling video editing and rendering.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Hands-on work with AI video and image tools such as Higgsfield, Seedance, Kling, Runway, Veo, or Midjourney.
-
Content in your portfolio that went viral or drove strong view counts.
-
Experience as a creator running your own social channels.
-
Scriptwriting or copywriting for short-form social.
-
Motion graphics or compositing skills (After Effects or similar).
-
Prior work with U.S. brands, creators, or a content agency or studio.
Ideal Candidate Profile
-
You are a storyteller first and an editor second. You think in hooks, beats, and payoffs.
-
Someone with real taste, who knows within seconds whether a video works and can explain why.
-
A self-starter who hears an idea once and comes back with something better than expected.
-
Curious about AI video and excited to experiment, not intimidated by tools that change every month.
-
Comfortable in an early-stage, founder-led environment where the process is still being built.
-
Fast without being sloppy, and happy to iterate on feedback.
