[Hiring] Senior Data Platform Engineer @PushPress

Role Description

PushPress is building a suite of data-driven products and customer experiences that powers reporting and AI features for 5,000+ gyms and our internal teams. We're hiring our first Data Platform Engineer to own the foundation that all of it runs on:

• How data gets in, where it lives, how it's governed, how it's extracted (while monitoring who uses it and why), and whether people and AI agents can trust it.
• Design the platform that makes reliable answers possible and support the teams who build on it.
• Collaborate closely with our Data team (Data Engineering and Analytics) and the broader R&D team.

What You'll Own

• Fast, trustworthy data for 5,000+ gyms.
• Ensure reporting for gym owners is fresh, fast, and accurate.
• Trace every number we run the company on back to its source.
• Set the bar for freshness and uptime; participate in incident response and fix root causes.
• A full view of the customer journey.
• Integrate product, payment, and third-party data to track gym and member usage.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure new features produce clean, well-structured data.
• Simplify data movement with fewer paths and tools, each with a clear owner.
• Privacy and security by design.
• Protect gym and member data; maintain access records and safeguards.
• Make privacy requests routine without disrupting financial reporting or audits.
• The foundation for AI at PushPress.
• Provide context for AI features to deliver useful answers to gym owners.
• Ensure business definitions are clear for both people and AI.
• Empower every team at PushPress to answer its own questions through AI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, data platform, data infrastructure, or software engineering roles.
• Experience with production infrastructure owned end to end, ideally at a B2B SaaS or payments company.
• Cloud warehouse experience at scale: performance tuning, cost management, access controls (RBAC, masking), and schema design.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with solid software engineering habits (testing, CI/CD, code review, infrastructure as code such as Terraform).
• Hands-on experience with orchestrators like Airflow or Dagster in production.
• Managed ingestion tools (Hevo, Fivetran) and custom pipelines.
• Built data quality checks and alerting systems.
• Daily use of AI, including workflows relied on by others.

Requirements

• Experience with real-time analytics databases such as ClickHouse.
• Knowledge of privacy and governance requirements under GDPR, CCPA, or PCI.
• Familiarity with TypeScript codebases.
