Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Cerner development and revenue cycle data to join a small, high-impact engineering team. This role is heavily focused on Cerner query development, script writing, and data extraction, supporting downstream analytics and operational use cases across healthcare revenue cycle functions.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can hit the ground running, thrive in a collaborative environment, and bring both technical depth and creative problem-solving to complex healthcare data challenges.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with Cerner development
• 6+ years of overall Data Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience extracting data directly from Cerner, including vendor-specific data
• Revenue Cycle Management experience within a healthcare environment
• Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience

Requirements

• Cerner Command Language (CCL)
• Strong understanding of how revenue cycle processes function within Cerner
• Experience working with Cerner data models, including Clinical data, Hospital Billing (HB), Physician/Professional Billing (PB/PV)
• Strong Microsoft SQL experience
• Preferred experience with Databricks, Azure, Python
• Prior experience supporting downstream analytics, reporting, or operational workflows
• Willingness and ability to learn new tools, technologies, and infrastructure to support Cerner access and data extraction
• High attention to detail paired with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve
