Role Description

The role is about:

• Working with payment data at scale, including transaction flows, approval rates, chargebacks, fees, and settlement.
• Answering business questions with data, building dashboards, and communicating findings.
• Owning the analysis and the insight while data engineers own the platform.
• Utilizing our data stack: Apache Superset, Apache Druid/Imply, Trino over Apache Iceberg on AWS S3, PostgreSQL, and JupyterHub.

Location:

• Limassol, Cyprus (employment contract)
• Remote from Europe (service contract)

Reporting to:

• Team Lead Product Analyst

What you will do:

• Investigate payment performance questions end to end, explaining why anomalies occurred.
• Prepare datasets for analysis by filtering, handling missing values, and validating quality.
• Apply statistical techniques to identify patterns, relationships, and trends.
• Build and maintain Superset dashboards and Druid data cubes.
• Prepare recurring reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory requirements.
• Automate recurring analysis and reporting.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and actionably.
• Partner with other departments to understand their data needs.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL, including window functions, CTEs, and aggregation logic.
• Python for analysis, including libraries like pandas and visualization tools.
• Experience with relational and analytical databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience building dashboards in BI tools, preferably Apache Superset.
• Comfort working in notebooks for exploratory analysis and reporting.
• Comfort with Git-based workflows.
• Ability to automate data reports.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A sense of ownership and end-to-end responsibility.

Requirements

• Experience in fintech or payments.
• Experience preparing regulatory or scheme reporting.
• Experience with dbt.
• Basic understanding of Apache Airflow.
• Familiarity with scheduling and automatic report generation.
• Experience with event tracking and product analytics tools.
• Practical use of AI tools in analytical work.
• Exposure to machine learning applied to business problems.
