Role Description

As the Senior BI & Front-End Developer, your mission is to transform complex business data into accurate, intuitive, and actionable dashboard experiences that help Spartan Investment Group teams understand performance and make informed decisions. You will own the full dashboard lifecycle, from requirements discovery and KPI definition through UX/UI design, development, validation, deployment, and continuous improvement across Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, and embedded web applications. Success means delivering polished, reliable, and user-centered BI solutions that make critical information easier to understand, reduce manual reporting, and enable teams to take action with confidence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Business Intelligence Delivery: Measures the effectiveness of delivering BI solutions that address business needs, support decision-making, and provide stakeholders with meaningful, actionable information.
• Data Accuracy & Reliability: Measures the quality, consistency, and trustworthiness of dashboard data, calculations, metrics, and reporting outputs.
• User Experience & Adoption: Measures how effectively dashboards and data experiences support intuitive navigation, clear understanding, meaningful exploration, and ongoing stakeholder use.
• Reporting Efficiency: Measures the effectiveness of BI solutions in simplifying reporting processes, reducing manual effort, and improving access to business information.
• BI Standards & Scalability: Measures the consistency, maintainability, and scalability of dashboards, metric definitions, visualization practices, documentation, and reusable BI solutions.

Outcomes

• Deliver Dashboard Projects: Own dashboard projects from requirements gathering and data exploration through design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation, with 90%+ delivered within agreed-upon timelines and scope.
• Ensure Data Accuracy: Build and maintain reliable dashboards across Apache Superset, Power BI, and Tableau, achieving 98%+ accuracy across validated metrics, calculations, filters, and reporting outputs.
• Create Effective User Experiences: Design intuitive, accessible dashboards that make key information easy to understand, explore, and act on, achieving 85%+ positive stakeholder feedback on usability and usefulness for new or significantly redesigned dashboards.
• Standardize KPIs & Business Rules: Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, calculations, and business rules, maintaining documented definitions for 100% of production KPIs and critical metrics owned by the role.
• Deliver Embedded Dashboard Experiences: Design dashboards that integrate naturally with existing web applications, navigation, branding, and user workflows, with 100% of releases completing functional, usability, and integration testing prior to deployment.
• Improve Reporting Efficiency: Automate or consolidate recurring reports, spreadsheets, and manual analyses, completing at least one measurable reporting-efficiency improvement per quarter based on time saved, processes automated, or manual work reduced.
• Maintain BI Standards: Build and maintain reusable templates, visualization standards, QA practices, and documentation, achieving 90%+ adherence to established BI design, documentation, and quality standards.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Use stakeholder feedback, usage data, and emerging tools to complete at least one meaningful BI or dashboard improvement per quarter. Leverage AI where appropriate while ensuring 100% of AI-assisted production outputs are validated before release.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, data visualization, data analysis, or business analysis.
• Advanced experience with Apache Superset, including datasets, reusable metrics, dashboard development, filters, permissions, and performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Power BI and Tableau, including data modeling, interactive reporting, dashboard development, and performance optimization.
• Advanced SQL skills and practical experience with GCP, BigQuery, or comparable cloud analytics environments.
• Strong UX/UI and data visualization expertise, including information architecture, visual hierarchy, interaction design, accessibility, and visualization selection.
• Experience designing embedded dashboards and data-rich web experiences within established navigation, branding, and design systems.
• Proficiency with Figma or comparable design/prototyping tools for wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and design specifications.
• Demonstrated business analysis experience, including requirements discovery, KPI definition, business rules, and translating business needs into analytical solutions. Portfolio required demonstrating dashboard design quality, analytical reasoning, technical execution, and individual contributions.
