Role Description
This role involves rebuilding and scaling our analytics foundation.
- Model clean, reliable data in dbt
- Transform data into Looker dashboards the business can trust
- Define core metrics used across teams
This role is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on technical execution with a strategic mindset and thrives in an environment where the foundation is still being built.
Our current stack includes: Redshift, dbt, Looker, Metaplane, Optimizely, Mixpanel, and GA4.
Location: Remote. Requires early-morning meetings (as early as 6am PST) to collaborate with our Eastern European engineering team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics)
- 4+ years of proven experience in Analytics or Data Engineering
- Expert proficiency in SQL and LookML - you’ve built and optimized complex data models in Looker
- Proven track record with dbt - delivering modular, tested transformations for analytics
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and an ability to design intuitive, user-friendly data visualizations
- Success in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Comfortable introducing new analytic techniques and driving their adoption across teams
Requirements
- Background in B2C eCommerce (bonus)
- Experience with Python (including statistical modeling libraries) (bonus)
- Familiarity with building or maintaining a semantic layer in a data stack (bonus)
