Role Description

The Business Analyst is responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of data reporting and integrations. The overall objective is to identify commonalities in customer/partner needs and drive the vision, prioritization, and long-term execution of scalable and reusable solutions.

  • Consult with interested customers and partners to determine data reporting and integration requests.
  • Exercise judgment to determine how best to provide solutions to the requests.
  • Direct the engineering team on the prioritization, design, and implementation of request deliverables.
  • Identify commonalities with data reporting and integration requests to craft purpose-built solutions.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue opportunities to develop strategic relationships and integrations with partners and vendors.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap of strategic opportunities with partners and vendors.
  • Contribute to and execute the vision for the purpose-built solutions.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with the engineering team to deliver valuable solutions to users.
  • Ability to see the big picture - track overall market and competitive dynamics.
  • Act as intermediary between the market and engineering, advocating for the needs of customers and partners.
  • Build strong relationships with customer-facing teams and partners.
  • Other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher – or the equivalent, preferably in relevant technical fields such as Computer Science, Analytics, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar, preferably in a B2B SaaS Agile software development environment.
  • Experience in vendor/partner relationship development and management is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and related technologies is highly preferred.
  • Background and/or experience with payroll, HRIS, accounting, or related industries is preferred.
  • Strong sense of empathy for users.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to think both creatively and critically, drawing insights from observations and validating hypotheses based on data.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills - able to see the big picture and manage details.
  • High degree of both technical expertise and business acumen.
  • Ability to work with people and work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work in an environment in which constant deadlines exist.
  • Must be able to work the hours necessary to successfully perform in this position.
  • Must understand all company guidelines, procedures, and workflow.
