Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to act as the interface between Business and IT, supporting clients in the functional and technical implementation of their IT projects within energy trading and regulated market environments.

• Act as the liaison between Business and IT teams, advising clients on both functional and technical aspects of IT project implementation
• Gather, structure, and document business requirements
• Analyze, optimize, and model end-to-end business processes, particularly within energy trading
• Develop functional concepts and decision-support documentation
• Support make-or-buy analyses and participate in software product selection processes
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of customer requirements
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and support system acceptance processes
• Maintain a high-level understanding of programming languages, frameworks, databases, and related technologies
• Leverage AI tools to enhance daily work activities while ensuring compliance with applicable legal frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, data protection, compliance requirements)

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Product Owner, ideally within energy trading, direct marketing, or other regulated market environments
• Strong understanding of end-to-end processes in energy trading
• Knowledge of Allegro ETRM is considered an advantage
• Initial hands-on experience in programming with common languages (e.g., Java, C#.NET, Python); familiarity with Java Spring Boot is a plus
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure complex processes in a clear and comprehensible manner
• Interest in AI-based tools and awareness of regulatory and compliance considerations
• Fluent in German and English
