Role Description

The Data Virtualization Engineer role is intended for candidates with two to three years of hands-on experience in SQL, reporting, analytics, data engineering, or database development. This role supports the development and operation of the firm's governed enterprise data hub by:

• Integrating enterprise data sources
• Building reusable virtual data products
• Validating data outputs
• Applying data governance and security requirements

The position helps provide reliable access to trusted, well-structured data for business operations, analytics, applications, automation, and AI use cases, while developing expertise in:

• Data architecture
• Modeling
• Metadata
• APIs
• Governance
• AI-ready data practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Relevant certifications in cloud, data analytics, database fundamentals, or data engineering are preferred but not required
• Two to three years of hands-on experience working with SQL, relational databases, reporting, analytics, data integration, or data engineering
• Experience should include writing and troubleshooting SQL queries, validating data across sources, and working with business or technical requirements
• Exposure to data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, cloud data platforms, APIs, or ETL/ELT concepts
• Experience with tools such as Denodo, Presto, Microsoft Power BI, or similar data access platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail when validating data and documenting results
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ask clarifying questions, and escalate issues appropriately
