Role Description

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Modernization Architect position for our client.

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data modernization and transformation initiatives
• Architect scalable, resilient, and secure data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments
• Collaborate with technical leads, DBAs, and developers to deliver large-scale data migration solutions
• Design and execute ETL/ELT processes across heterogeneous data sources and platforms
• Drive like-for-like and transformative data migrations (e.g., Oracle to PostgreSQL, Oracle to SQL Server as a Service, relational to NoSQL, Data Warehouse to Data Lake)
• Develop data architecture strategies including data modeling, governance, and lifecycle management
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution architectures
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate architecture approaches and technologies
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, integration frameworks, and middleware solutions
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization of data systems
• Utilize cloud-native services and modern DevOps practices to enable continuous delivery
• Support Agile development teams and provide architectural guidance throughout the SDLC

Qualifications

• Architecture Design: Ability to design end-to-end scalable, resilient, and secure system architectures (monolithic, microservices, event-driven)
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems, and integration patterns
• Integration & APIs: Experience designing RESTful APIs, system integrations, and middleware solutions
• Data Architecture: Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed data systems
• DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines
• ETL & Data Transformation: Hands-on experience with tools such as IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator
• Database Technologies: Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Amazon RDS) and NoSQL systems
• Data Formats & Programming: Proficiency with XML, JSON, and scripting languages such as Python
• Data Platforms: Experience with Data Lake architectures and modern data ecosystems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise application architecture
• Proven track record leading large-scale data migration and modernization initiatives
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and distributed systems
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT design, data integration, and transformation processes
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred

Salary

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
