[Hiring] Data Engineer @EXANTE

Role Description

Our Business Intelligence department owns the trusted data warehouse and the analytics every department relies on. We build and maintain the models and reports behind management reporting and daily decision-making, with a strong focus on getting the numbers right and on time. We're hiring a hands-on, SQL-strong data engineer to drive development work forward in our GCP + dbt + Power BI stack.

Reporting Line: Head of Data Warehouse

Worksite: Remote

What You Will Do

• Develop and look after reliable, scalable data models, transformations and pipelines across BigQuery and dbt.
• Bring together data from a range of different systems — databases, APIs, file feeds and external providers.
• Translate reporting needs into accurate, well-tested and documented datasets.
• Put validation, checks and monitoring in place so data problems are spotted before they spread.
• Make sure the day-to-day data lands correctly and on schedule.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of SQL — confident in writing and debugging complex queries, and understanding the underlying data.
• Substantial experience working in a production environment with ELT pipelines, data integration and data modelling.
• A deep understanding of the principles of data quality assurance and data warehouse design.
• Reliability and independence — able to take responsibility for resolving data-related issues and see the task through to completion.

Requirements

• Experience with designing and building data models in dbt (Nice to Have).
• Comfortable using Python to move and integrate data across GCP services (Nice to Have).
• Practical experience querying and working in BigQuery (or a comparable cloud warehouse) (Nice to Have).
• Solid grasp of star-schema design and semantic modelling for Power BI (Nice to Have).
• Confident with version control and CI/CD workflows, GitLab a plus (Nice to Have).
• Background working with brokerage, banking, asset-management, payments or fintech data (Nice to Have).

Benefits

• Competitive salary that reflects your experience and the value you bring.
• Flexibility that fits your life — work from home, from our office, or a mix of both.
• Flexible benefits package — choose the options that suit your life.
• A genuinely good place to work — an informal, collaborative culture where ideas are heard.
• Continuous learning — ongoing training, education programs, and support to deepen your expertise.
• Connection beyond your desk — events that bring our teams together to network and celebrate.
• Global exposure — work side by side with talented colleagues from all over the world.
