Role Description

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will gain an understanding of our Group, Individual and Government client benefit business, including how they are structured and managed from a technical perspective. You will interact with other key business areas such as Finance, Business Development, Case Management, Underwriting, Federal/Provincial Programs, other IT teams and customers.

Design, develop and rollout Business Intelligence solutions from a Data Warehouse perspective.
Design solutions for projects compliant with BI Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Enterprise architectural standards.
Develop modern Business Intelligence (BI) solutions including Performance Management Dashboards, Business Analytics Models and Visualizations, OLAP and Reporting.
Provide modern information architecture technical designs and specifications for data integration and data storage to support new BI solutions.
Translate business requirements into specifications for Data Modeling/Data Warehouse/Data integration/Analytics and Reporting.
Use Extract/Transform/Load – OLTP & OLAP processes to load data store(s)/data warehouse(s)/data mart(s).
Design Relational, Dimensional and Tabular Data Structures for organizational data and reporting.
Provide support to ensure the availability and performance of enterprise data and BI environments for customers.
Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented.
Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members.
Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes.

Qualifications

University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or similar program.
Experience with requirements gathering and analysis work.
Knowledge of software development life-cycle methodologies.
Working knowledge of business domain and/or application.
Security Clearance Requirement: Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B).

Requirements

Experience with creating, deploying, and managing SSAS within the SQL Server environment including XMLA.
Thorough knowledge and experience implementing multidimensional data models, hierarchies, levels, measures, and designing efficient models for analytical queries.
Superior understanding of implementing dimensional modeling, optimizing cube design, writing efficient MDX queries, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
Capability to design dimensional models by defining dimensions, measures, and relationships.
Experience with Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
Proficiency in designing and building both multidimensional and tabular models.
Experience in DevOps tooling and processes.
Experience leading technical design and project leadership.
