Role Description

You are someone that is self-directing, with the ability to identify priorities, obstacles, and mobilize in an orderly fashion to achieve desired results and effectively use collaboration in driving decisions. We need someone who understands technical issues at a high level and is proactive, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems. In the role of Business Analyst III, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting delivery of solutions
• Planning, application reviews, documentation preparation, and information updates
• Policy/directive reviews and release management support
• Providing guidance on the development of enterprise infrastructure, applications, security, process improvements, and solutions

Key responsibilities include:

• Keeping abreast of current developments in Health Care IT, software development and release, and industry best practices
• Identifying, researching, and resolving business, usability, process, technical, and service improvement problems
• Gathering requirements, creating associated documentation, working with developers to estimate and build solutions, and evaluating results
• Extracting data from disparate systems into meaningful business intelligence to improve business processes, procedures, and products
• Partnering with clients and other service areas and vendors to ensure optimum delivery of solutions
• Ensuring that solution architecture is in sync with business
• Participating in initiative documentation, like design reviews, estimating exercises, operational readiness reviews, timeline management, and risk assessment
• Applying expert knowledge to prepare briefing materials for executive leadership, high-profile clients, and stakeholders
• Drafting and tailoring content for multiple audiences to communicate status, key information, milestones, technical challenges, and opportunities
• Working under deadlines and in close contact with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
• Identifying and collecting information and coordinating inputs for meetings and briefings as needed
• Seeking to solve blockers and reaching out to team or others as needed to advance task completion
• Supporting specific and ad hoc areas as directed
• Identifying and mitigating existing business risks associated with solution architecture and business processes
• Providing recommendations on prioritization of work for development team members based on customer needs
• Participating in Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
• Consulting on test planning and execution, including documenting test plans, executing test plans, tracking testing execution, and defect management
• Supporting Release Management processes and driving improvements
• Supporting operational needs, including end-user documentation, communications, and troubleshooting user issues
• Building models and assessing shareholder needs and goals
• Making recommendations for process improvements based on analysis of information and following up to ensure successful execution
• Participating in knowledge transfer and mentorship of coworkers
• Performing other related duties as necessary

Qualifications

• Over 2+ years of relevant experience conducting analysis of IT business and information environments, activities, processes, and events
• 2+ years of experience working on web-based applications and portals
• Understanding of IT system/software lifecycle
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, focusing on communicating technical concepts with a mixture of business, functional, application development engineering, and security team members
• Experience with data management (collection, storage, and use)
• Ability to independently assemble a variety of Excel tables, PowerPoint slides, and Word documentation with limited time for client consumption
• Experience with machine learning and AI
• Ability to articulate complex concepts succinctly and quickly in an easy-to-digest manner
• Well-versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
• Experience with data modeling and data mining tools

Requirements

• Knowledge of Healthcare IT, VA and/or DoD Systems and Software
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, HITRUST, SOC1/2
• Experience with medical/dental/pharmacy claims processing
• Experience mining and modeling data, identifying trends, errors, opportunities, and reviewing data with reporting writing skills
• Experience with DevOps and DevSecOps
