Role Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst – Student Accounts who reports to the Associate Director of Systems and Reporting and will support a shared service team within Johns Hopkins University's (JHU) Office of Student Accounts and Enrollment Management (SEAM). This position plays a critical role in supporting the systems and technical operations of Student Accounts, with a primary focus on student billing systems, tuition calculation, system integrations, and related technologies.

The role provides functional and technical support for:

• System configuration
• Production processes
• Data integrity
• Implementation of new functionality and enhancements

Responsibilities include:

• Researching and resolving billing and system discrepancies
• Troubleshooting technical and data issues
• Supporting system testing
• Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of technologies that support student billing, payments, refunds, collections, tax reporting, and other student financial activity

This role also serves as a key liaison between Student Accounts and Johns Hopkins University Information Systems (“UIS”), translating business and operational needs into clearly defined system requirements. The position partners with UIS and Student Accounts stakeholders to:

• Define requirements and acceptance criteria
• Coordinate user acceptance testing
• Manage and prioritize JIRA requests
• Support technical projects and system enhancements

The position also assists with:

• Triage and root-cause analysis of production issues
• Identifying configuration or data-related concerns
• Coordinating timely resolution

This role is a 12-month full time, temporary position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Three years of related experience
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula

Benefits

• Starting Salary Range: $64,470 - $112,850 Annually ($90,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree preferred
• Four years of related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility
• Experience in higher education, project management, and accounts receivable/billing is desired
• Experience with document imaging systems, preferably OnBase
