Role Description

Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Appointing Services Clerk to support military families and veterans by ensuring timely and accurate scheduling of healthcare appointments. In this role, you will verify eligibility, manage appointment requests, and provide exceptional customer service.

• Appointment Scheduling & Coordination: Proactively make outbound calls to schedule specialty care appointments, preventative health visits, and surgery reminders for beneficiaries.
• Eligibility Verification: Use the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) to confirm patient eligibility, ensuring smooth scheduling.
• Patient Appointment Management: Coordinate appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations to ensure timely care.
• Collaboration with MTFs: Work with other Puget Sound Military Health System (PSMHS) Military Treatment Facilities to meet the needs of beneficiaries within TRICARE access standards.
• Clear Communication: Handle call routing and documentation, ensuring all communications are accurate, timely, and efficient.
• Secure Messaging Support: Provide secure messaging to ensure appointment information is shared accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proof of US Citizenship is required.
• Must pass background check to obtain security clearance.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and other software programs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain clearance to access the CSMHS military installation and be issued a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats with staff, patients, and providers.
• Relevant military experience is a plus and can be substituted for certain requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in healthcare administration or appointment scheduling is preferred.
• Previous knowledge of patient appointment systems, referral management, or healthcare settings is a plus.
