Role Description

The IOM Ukraine Protection Programme operates a National Toll-Free Counter-Trafficking and Migrant Advice Hotline 527, providing consultations on various topics:

• Counter-trafficking and safe migration
• Work of humanitarian organizations and diplomatic institutions
• Human trafficking and safe travel
• Social support opportunities
• Border-crossing points and non-visa border crossing
• Procedure for seeking asylum
• Obtaining refugee or temporary protection status
• Border crossing by men subject to conscription
• Border crossing by children
• Protection of rights while abroad

Since 1991, over 300,000 Ukrainians have suffered from human trafficking. The full-scale invasion has increased vulnerabilities and risks of trafficking, leading to:

• Displacement
• Poverty
• Deterioration of mental health
• Increased tendency for risky behaviors

The hotline is a crucial tool for disseminating migration-related information and trafficking prevention messages. IOM seeks to boost the hotline's capacity by engaging additional operators fluent in Ukrainian and potentially English to support the affected Ukrainian population. The hotline will operate online, providing information support remotely with ICT assistance from IOM.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Ukrainian and potentially English
• Experience in providing support or consultations
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate with other staff
