Role Description

We are seeking a Bilingual Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our remote team and focus exclusively on supporting the practice’s hygiene schedule and patient retention efforts. The ideal candidate will have dental office experience, strong scheduling and communication skills, and the ability to confidently communicate with a high volume of English- and Spanish-speaking patients. This role is highly focused on hygiene scheduling, outbound recall calls, and reappointment follow-up.

We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented professional who understands that successful hygiene coordination requires more than simply booking appointments. The ideal candidate is comfortable with outbound patient outreach, recall management, reappointment follow-up, and filling open hygiene appointments, while providing an exceptional patient experience in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the dental hygiene schedule to maximize appointment availability and productivity.
• Make high-volume outbound recall calls to patients who are due or overdue for hygiene appointments.
• Follow up with patients to schedule and confirm hygiene appointments.
• Conduct reappointment outreach and encourage patients to maintain their recommended hygiene schedules.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with patients in both English and Spanish.
• Identify scheduling opportunities and proactively fill open hygiene appointments.
• Document patient interactions and scheduling activity accurately within the practice management system.
• Follow up consistently with patients who do not schedule during the initial outreach.
• Provide a positive, professional patient experience during every interaction.
• Work closely with the dental team to support hygiene department goals and scheduling needs.
• Provide occasional after-hours coverage when needed, while remaining within the 40-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is required.
• Previous experience in a dental office, preferably in a scheduling, hygiene coordination, patient care, or front-office role.
• Strong experience with dental appointment scheduling and patient follow-up.
• Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and speaking with patients throughout the day.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Professional and confident phone presence.
• Ability to manage a high volume of patient interactions while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Eaglesoft is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Open Dental is required or highly preferred, particularly as the practice transitions systems.
• Experience with RevenueWell is a plus.
• Experience with Weave is a plus.
• Previous experience coordinating dental hygiene recalls and reappointments is highly desirable.
• Experience working with a high volume of Spanish-speaking dental patients is a strong advantage.

Benefits

Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a negotiable pay rate depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM EST.
