Role Description

Help shape and lead the future of AML and Economic Crime compliance at one of the UK's leading professional services firms. We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded AML & Economic Crime Manager to join our Risk & Compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist in anti-money laundering and economic crime prevention who wants to make a real impact across a large, dynamic business.

Reporting to the Compliance Senior Manager, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering our firmwide AML and Economic Crime strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting commercial growth and operational efficiency. You'll work closely with senior leaders, regional MLROs, client-facing teams and regulators, helping the business navigate complex risks with confidence and pragmatism.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the development and implementation of AML and Economic Crime policies, controls, assurance frameworks and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain firmwide risk assessments and support the business in responding proactively to regulatory change.
• Act as the key escalation point for complex AML matters, including sanctions, SARs, source of funds/wealth enquiries, adverse media and client risk assessments.
• Support and develop the regional MLRO network.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation.
• Deliver training, guidance and practical solutions to support regulatory compliance.
• Produce reporting for senior leadership, Risk Committees and the Board.
• Build relationships with regulators and support regulatory reviews and communications.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in AML and Economic Crime compliance within financial services, professional services or accountancy.
• Strong understanding of applying regulatory requirements in a practical commercial environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK AML and Economic Crime legislation.
• Experience managing complex AML, sanctions, PEP and adverse media matters.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate technical regulatory requirements into clear, practical business solutions.
• Strong report-writing and presentation skills, including preparing papers for senior leadership and Boards.
• Experience leading projects, driving change and working to demanding deadlines.
• Technology-first mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
