[Hiring] Chief Compliance and Risk Officer @Localpayment

Role Description

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to be the cornerstone of Localpayment's global compliance and risk framework. You'll own the end-to-end compliance and risk strategy — from AML/KYC controls and data protection to regulatory engagement, licensing, and due diligence with banking and payment partners across every market we operate in. This is a high-impact, highly autonomous role at the intersection of fintech, regulation, and global payments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in compliance and risk roles within fintech, payments, banking, or financial services.
• Academic background in Law is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks and data protection regulation across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience with cross-border payments, PSP ecosystems, or acquiring bank relationships.
• Knowledge of global and local regulatory frameworks, with hands-on experience managing licenses and working directly with regulatory bodies.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English — able to draft policies, reports, and regulatory correspondence independently, and to lead meetings with regulators, partners, and leadership.
• Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, or equivalent) to accelerate compliance and regulatory work.
• Structured, detail-oriented profile with a strategic mindset and the ability to build and lead a compliance function.
