Role Description

For one of our clients in the pharma industry, we are looking for a freelance PR Consultant for Consumer Health (Liver/Obesity).

Project name: Human pharma Communication Germany, in particular launch preparations Liver/Obesity.

Project description:

• The service is being developed as part of the Human Pharma Communication Germany project requested.
• The object of the contract is the development of materials for external and internal Human Pharma Communication with a focus on Germany in the field of Liver/Obesity.
• The client intends to develop scientific and regulatory milestones of its human medicines in the field of liver/obesity to the trade press.
• Another focus is communication content within the company as well as in an appropriate form to a broad range of specialist and lay audience.

Tasks:

• Independent conception, editorial creation and preparation of external and internal communication materials with a focus on Germany.
• Editorial preparation and preparation of press releases on the product pipeline, especially in the area of liver/obesity based on data on clinical trials, human pharmacology research and approvals.
• Design and create FAQs based on the data provided on clinical trials, research in the field of human pharmacy and, where appropriate, approvals.
• Developing the content of multimedia materials to complement press releases and FAQs, including the creation of concepts and manuscripts for videos, infographics, and social media posts.
• Preparation and documentation of PR plans for the previously defined topics and content with a focus on public/lay media.
• Preparation of a final report covering all the above deliverables, and handover to client for testing and further use.

Scheduling & Milestones:

• For the preparation of German press releases on the basis of international press releases, an indicative period of up to 1 week until the design is deployed.
• The creation and completion of all other materials will be based on the project framework defined deadlines for the respective communication packages.
• All documents are finally checked and approved by the client.

Qualifications

• Healthcare & Pharma PR Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or corporate health communications (agency or freelance background).
• Consumer & Lay Media Focus: Proven track record of planning and executing PR campaigns aimed at general public and consumer health media outlets in Germany.
• Established network or familiar contacts across general health media, consumer magazines, and broad digital platforms.
• Editorial & Content Creation: Demonstrated capability in translating complex clinical trial data, scientific research, and regulatory milestones into accessible press releases, FAQs, Q&As, and media kits for non-scientific audiences.
• Multimedia & Digital Campaigning: Strong experience in conceptualizing multimedia PR packages, including scripts/concepts for social media, infographics, and promotional video content.
• Language Proficiency:
• Native or Fluent German (C2) – Essential for editorial drafting and local German media outreach.
• Professional Business English (C1) – Required for processing international study data and internal stakeholder alignment.

Nice-to-Have Criteria

• Therapeutic Area Expertise: Specific experience in Obesity, Metabolic Health, or Hepatology/Liver diseases.
• Product Launch Experience: Prior exposure to pre-launch and launch communication strategies within the German healthcare market.
• Media Cooperation Formats: Experience developing branded or educational health content partnerships (Kooperationsformate) with major German media outlets.
• Pharma Governance Familiarity: Prior experience navigating internal legal, medical, and regulatory (LMR) review processes typical in top-tier pharmaceutical companies.
