[Hiring] Senior Business Developer Manager @Ameresco

Role Description

Ameresco has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Development Manager who will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing complex energy efficiency, renewable energy, and advanced technology solutions across public sector markets. This position owns the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through proposal development, contract negotiation, and successful transition to project delivery teams. This role serves as a trusted advisor to elected officials and executive leadership, navigating capital governance, funding approval pathways, and procurement strategy to structure and close large-scale programs.

• Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities for turnkey energy solutions including energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed generation, microgrids, and performance contracting.
• Develop and execute market and account plans to achieve annual sales and growth objectives.
• Build and maintain advisory relationships with County Judges, Commissioners Courts, City Managers, CFOs, and executive stakeholders across public sector clients.
• Lead proposal strategy and development, coordinating internally with engineering, finance, and development teams.
• Prepare and deliver customer presentations and written proposals.
• Represent Ameresco at executive forums, industry conferences, and public sector events to advance market presence and thought leadership.
• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts in alignment with customer objectives and Ameresco standards.
• Serve as primary customer contact during the sales process and support transition to project execution teams.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking within CRM systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years progressive local experience marketing construction services, consulting services, energy efficiency, or renewable technology.
• Proven experience influencing and leading sales and project development teams in Texas to meet company and business goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in sustainability, engineering, economics, finance, environmental science or business or Advanced Education (i.e., MS, MBA) preferred.
• Proven successful business development experience cultivating, developing, and securing customers and projects in South or Southwestern US.
• Demonstrated sales track record, including executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience.
• Proven ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value.
• Superior financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, people and business relationships.
• Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
• Travel required.

Benefits

• The anticipated base salary range for this role is $121,000 - $176,000.
