[Hiring] Manager, Business Development @Living Goods

Role Description

Living Goods is seeking a Manager, Business Development to build the philanthropic partnerships in the U.S. market that make our 2027–2030 strategy possible. You will identify, cultivate, secure, and steward multi-year investments from US-based foundations and corporate funders, with a focus on larger and technically complex opportunities. You will keep funders engaged and invested over time, building the relationships and results reporting that drive renewals and increased giving.

This is a role for an experienced fundraiser who is ready to carry a meaningful share of our revenue target and to step into senior funder conversations. You will own your portfolio of relationships, lead the proposals behind them, and sharpen how we tell the Living Goods performance story to U.S. funders.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of existing and prospective U.S. foundation and corporate donors.
• Build and carry out engagement strategies to retain donors and secure new and increased funding.
• Represent Living Goods in conversations with funders, including technical discussions.
• Position Living Goods to win funding from large, technically complex foundations.
• Support the CEO and other leaders in funder engagements.
• Lead and project manage concept notes and full proposals.
• Guide donor due diligence and the negotiation of restricted terms.
• Facilitate strategic decisions on funding and partnership opportunities.
• Monitor opportunities and contribute to pipeline forecasting and donor surveillance.
• Advise on grant reporting for your portfolio.
• Work with the grant writer and Communications team to create and update funder communications.
• Contribute to U.S.-market strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5 - 7 years of experience in fundraising or business development.
• Personal ownership of significant ($1M+) awards.
• Direct experience with institutional funder processes.
• Demonstrated experience leading multi-stakeholder proposal development.
• Experience in global health, international development, or an adjacent technical field.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
• Collaborative spirit.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred

• Existing relationships or credible networks among large U.S. global health foundations.
• Technical fluency in global health, digital health, or health systems.
• Experience with funder collaboratives or pooled funds.
