[Hiring] Interim Country Manager @FINN

Role Description

We are preparing to launch in Brazil and are looking for someone on the ground to help us get it right from day one. This is not a passive advisory role. For the first 2–3 months you will commit 10–20 hours per week to:

• Organise everything locally for launch
• Talk to our first users
• Keep us close to the market
• Work with local vendors
• Help us solve problems as they come up

You will have the autonomy of a Country Manager with the flexibility of a consultancy. We want someone business- and product-minded who has the aptitude to take on long-term ownership of the Brazil market as our full-time Country Manager.

What You'll Do

• Customer support and user contact: Run our initial customer support and contact users directly, so we understand what is working, what is confusing and why.
• Market and competitor watch: Keep us up to date on competitors and on what is changing in the UK earned wage access and consumer credit market.
• Vendor liaison: Be our local point of contact with banking, payments and other vendors, especially when time zones, local norms or established relationships make it hard for us to do so.
• Payments operations: Help manage operational issues such as double payments and repayment queries, and work with our teams to fix the root cause.
• Problem solving with our teams: Help us diagnose issues such as salary flagging (identifying a user’s salary in their bank transactions) when we see problems, and turn them into clear workstreams for our engineering, product and risk teams.
• Fraud: Use your market knowledge to help us spot fraud patterns and suspicious behaviour early.
• End-to-end ownership: Together with the VP of Expansion, help drive all aspects of the business, from acquisition to collections performance, deep-diving the most important topic of the week so the business grows profitably and sustainably.

Qualifications

• Brazilian fintech knowledge: A track record in Brazilian consumer credit, payroll-linked lending (consignado), earned wage access or digital banking.
• Payments and banking literacy: Hands-on experience with how money moves in Brazil, such as Pix, Open Finance, payment accounts and banking partners.
• Business and product mindset: Ability to spot a problem in the data or in a customer conversation and turn it into a clear, prioritised fix.
• Builder DNA: Experience building a product or market from the ground up, as a founder, product lead or GM within a high-growth startup.
• The network: Existing connections across Brazilian fintechs, banks and payment providers to help unblock things quickly.
• Languages: Native Portuguese and professional working English.
• Professional versatility: Enjoys doing as much as leading, regardless of years of experience.

Role Details

• Commitment: 10–20 hours per week (flexible) for an initial 2–3 months, with a path to the full-time Country Manager role.
• Location: Remote (must be based in Brazil).
• Compensation: Competitive hourly or monthly retainer, commensurate with experience.
