Role Description

As a Business Development Specialist, you will deliver reliable, high-quality patient access support and significantly drive program engagement while managing a broader range of scenarios with increasing independence. This role focuses primarily on leveraging a specialized skillset to expertly drive patient engagement via carefully developed outreach strategies.

• Educate, qualify, and convert prospective participants to create program engagement.
• Master the ability to evangelize Carrum’s story to align Carrum's value to prospective participants that align with healthcare needs.
• Organize, document, and define best practices to constantly improve outreach strategies.
• Manage a wider range of patient inquiries related to access, eligibility, and intake with growing confidence and efficiency.
• Apply working knowledge of insurance types, benefits, and Carrum programs to guide patients accurately.
• Balance productivity and quality while managing your time, follow-ups, and documentation independently.
• Contribute ideas and feedback that improve workflows, documentation, or patient experience.
• Support newer team members informally by modeling best practices and answering questions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; college education preferred.
• 1-2 Years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a similar customer-facing role preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong listening skills.
• Self-starter with organizational skills.
• Resilience and persistence.
• Ability to quickly learn.
• Understands use of CRM and other sales tools.
• Spanish Speaking preferred.

Requirements

• Outbound, cold calling to engage eligible patients, build rapport and establish trust to influence patient decisions.
• Manage follow-up activities to re-engage members and close enrollment opportunities.
• Accurately and diligently document interactions, outcomes, and next steps in internal systems.
• Routinely assist with general queue coverage duties and inbox management, across a broader range of access and intake scenarios - as needed.
• Apply escalation guidelines appropriately for more complex or sensitive cases.
• Identify recurring issues or workflow challenges and share feedback with leadership.
• Serve as a reliable team contributor during periods of high volume or change.
