Role Description

Enable utilities, utility panel builders, and integration partners to adopt Mersen’s Smart Grid solutions by translating application requirements into technically validated customer projects. In this technically focused business development role, you will support customer projects from initial application discussions through technical evaluation, integration, and commissioning. Your focus will be ProGrid NH Fuse switch disconnectors and Smart ProGrid, together with relevant fuse and protection solutions used in these applications.

You will work closely with the Sales Manager Utilities & Panel Builders Germany and regional sales colleagues. They lead commercial account development; you contribute the application expertise that helps turn opportunities into successful customer projects.

• Configure and parameterize Mersen devices, establish and troubleshoot Modbus RTU communication, and support the use of measurement and status data in customer monitoring and visualization systems.
• Support testing and commissioning within the agreed scope of the Mersen solution. Work with panel builders and integration partners to address device interfaces and the substation communication requirements relevant to that scope.
• Turn project experience into practical application guidance and training for customers, partners, and sales colleagues, including documenting Smart ProGrid integration into partner systems and helping develop the user kit, and provide customer feedback to product management and technical specialists.
• Identify potential partnerships by mapping the German Smart Grid ecosystem, including distribution system operators (DSOs), engineering companies, panel builders, integrators, contractors, specifiers, and technology partners. Develop relationships with the key decision-makers and influencers across this ecosystem.

• Ability to translate customer applications and requirements into persuasive technical and commercial solutions and communicate them clearly to different audiences.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage power distribution networks and hands-on mastery of Modbus RTU, together with practical experience in device & monitoring systems configuration, communication diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with utilities, utility panel builders, digital substations, or relevant fuse and protection applications would be an advantage.
• Proactive, results-oriented, fluent in German with good professional English, and willing to travel regularly within Germany and occasionally internationally (in Europe).
