Role Description

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to find companies worldwide that need to export hazardous waste due to lack of local treatment options, and win them as clients. This is a 100% commercial role focused on acquisition and closing.

TransFrontier Shipments (TFS) moves hazardous and non-hazardous waste across borders under the Basel Convention and the EU Waste Shipment Regulation. The markets where waste volumes are growing fastest and treatment capacity is scarcest include:

• Middle East
• Africa
• Asia
• Latin America

Your tasks include:

• The world is your territory: Track down big generators of hazardous waste in regions like the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.
• Stay ahead of the market: Identify regulations that create new waste streams and approach clients proactively.
• Open doors: Build relationships with decision-makers at trade fairs, industry events, and remotely.
• Close the deal: Collaborate with the technical team to build commercial offers from initial conversations to signed contracts.
• Put AI to work: Utilize technology to reach more generators efficiently.
• Maintain contact with partner facilities and carry forwarded leads through to commitment, handing them to the operations team.

Qualifications

• You are a natural salesperson: Outgoing, well-connected, communicative, and positive.
• You drive things yourself: Structured, disciplined, and proactive.

• You speak fluent English; additional languages (German, Spanish, French, Arabic) are a plus.

Requirements

• Experience in Sales/Business Development with a track record of closed deals.
• Understanding of (Hazardous) waste/environmental technology.
• Knowledge of international logistics/export.
• Willingness to learn about hazardous waste regulations (Basel Convention, shipment, declaration).
• Location: Based in Europe with a remote-first setup and regular travel to clients and facilities.
