[Hiring] Business Development Lead @VSG Recruitment

Role Description

This is a hands-on business development role focused on identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships, and converting those opportunities into long-term business partnerships.

• Develop and execute a structured business development strategy for Southern Ontario
• Identify and pursue new opportunities within industrial markets
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects
• Initiate conversations through networking, industry outreach, and direct business development
• Lead or support discovery meetings, proposals, and deal progression
• Build relationships with key decision-makers across operations, engineering, and procurement
• Understand customers' operational, technical, and regulatory requirements
• Translate technical solutions into clear business value
• Work closely with internal technical specialists to develop tailored solutions
• Develop long-term customer partnerships and expand key accounts
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs
• Represent our client at relevant industry events and networking opportunities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in B2B business development, sales, or strategic partnerships
• A proactive, autonomous, and results-driven approach
• Experience managing longer and more complex sales cycles
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to think strategically while remaining highly execution-focused
• Confidence working with technical and operational stakeholders

Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following would be particularly valuable:
• Industrial water or wastewater treatment
• Environmental services
• Industrial process solutions
• Technical or engineering environments
• Value-driven or consultative sales
• Knowledge of the Southern Ontario industrial market
• Bilingual English/French capabilities
