[Hiring] Assistant Vice President, Healthcare Data & AI @Vizient

Role Description

Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is seeking an AVP, Healthcare Data and AI, to support the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of Kaufman Hall's next generation healthcare insights capability, and to support the development of Kaufman Hall’s overall data strategy.

This role will focus on applying data science, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tooling to support the development of a scalable platform that helps consultants access, analyze, and apply complex healthcare data and insights. The AVP, Data and AI, will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the analytical foundation, including:

• Data models
• Analytical methodologies
• AI-enabled capabilities
• Benchmarking approaches
• Other technical components that support the platform

In addition, this role will play a key leadership role in identifying gaps in data access, availability, and coordination, and identifying opportunities to enhance Kaufman Hall’s overall data platform.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Innovation and Insights team, healthcare subject-matter experts, business stakeholders, and other technology partners to translate business needs into analytical solutions. This role will support the ongoing evolution of Kaufman Hall’s Insight Engine by developing innovative approaches for organizing, analyzing, and deriving value from complex healthcare datasets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive data science, advanced analytics, AI-enabled analytics and/or other relevant experience required.
• Experience with large data models, healthcare finance, healthcare operations, healthcare analytics, or healthcare data preferred.
• Prior consulting experience preferred.
• Experience developing, utilizing, and deploying data science methodologies such as machine learning, AI, predictive analytics, optimization modeling, operations research, advanced statistical analysis, or mathematical modeling within business environments.
• Proficiency in Python. Experience with SQL, PySpark, business intelligence tools, cloud data platforms, statistical software (R, SAS), or related technologies preferred.
• Experience developing, testing, and deploying analytical models using large and complex datasets.
• Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and communicate technical concepts effectively to nontechnical audiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working across multiple projects and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of healthcare financial and operational performance concepts preferred.
• Self-directed learner who demonstrates intellectual curiosity, operates independently, and works effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• An entrepreneurial spirit that is inquisitive, proactive, and interested in exploring new tools, technologies, and analytical approaches.

Work Environment

• Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%.
• The role is remote (Chicago preferred).
• Work is regularly performed in a home office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment.
• It may require the maintenance of a home office and proximity to an airport for work-related travel.

Estimated Hiring Range

The current salary range for this role is $155,000 to $225,000. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances.
