Role Description

This is a remote position.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Position Overview

Liz is looking for a reliable and conscientious Video Editing & Content Repurposing VA who can take over the time-consuming post-production work for her podcast and YouTube content. The main purpose of this role is to allow Liz to focus on recording, speaking, consulting, and creating content rather than spending hours editing and preparing each episode for publication.

The editing itself is generally light and straightforward. Liz is not looking for highly complex cinematic editing or extensive video production. She primarily needs someone who can:

• Efficiently clean up recordings
• Follow specific editing instructions
• Prepare show notes
• Create short-form content
• Return polished, ready-to-post assets

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with video editing
• Experience editing podcast or interview-style content is strongly preferred
• Ability to perform clean, basic-to-intermediate video editing
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent English proficiency
• Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately
• Ability to locate and edit specific sections of long-form content
• Good file organization skills
• Ability to meet agreed deadlines
• Reliable and consistent follow-through
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills

Requirements

• Experience repurposing long-form content into Reels, Shorts, or other short-form videos
• Experience creating YouTube thumbnails
• Experience preparing podcast show notes
• Experience working with YouTube/podcast creators, coaches, consultants, educators, or thought leaders
• Basic graphic design skills
• Familiarity with cloud-based file-sharing platforms such as Dropbox
• Familiarity with AI-assisted video/content tools
• Good understanding of what makes a video clip engaging and suitable for short-form content

Hours & Engagement Structure

• First Month: 5 hours per week

Candidate Portfolio Requirement

• Provide relevant samples demonstrating podcast/interview editing, talking-head video editing, short-form clips, Reels/YouTube Shorts, and YouTube thumbnails
• Prioritize candidates with podcast or educational/thought-leadership content experience

Key Success Measures

• Reduce the time Liz spends editing her own podcast episodes
• Consistently get podcast episodes ready for publication
• Move closer to her goal of publishing weekly or every two weeks
• Turn long-form podcast conversations into useful short-form content
• Create approximately 2–3 quality short clips from suitable episodes
• Prepare clear and useful show notes
• Create professional YouTube thumbnails
• Support the production of shorter YouTube commentary videos
• Receive completed content in an organized, easy-to-post format
• Allow Liz to focus more of her time on consulting, speaking, education, and content creation rather than post-production
