Role Description

The VDC Coordinator is responsible for establishing and executing the model based coordination process for assigned projects. Working closely with the Senior VDC Coordinator, this includes:

• Creating project specific BIM Execution Plans
• Developing coordination workflows
• Defining model exchange and publishing requirements
• Establishing clash detection and issue tracking procedures
• Coordinating meeting and reporting cadences
• Documenting signoff and handoff expectations

The role may support EPC project delivery, electrical construction projects, integrated delivery teams, or other FTI business groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related discipline preferred
• Relevant certifications or advanced training in BIM/VDC platforms, coordination workflows, or construction technology are preferred
• 3+ years of BIM or VDC coordination experience within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry
• Experience supporting active construction projects is required

Requirements

• Travel: 10-20%
• Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday
• Work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct VDC coordination support to assigned projects and business groups
• Develop and maintain project specific BIM Execution Plans and coordination procedures
• Set up and maintain the approved model coordination platform
• Collect, review, combine, and maintain current design and trade models
• Run scheduled clash tests and organize results
• Document issues with clear descriptions and follow through verification and closure
• Prepare for and facilitate coordination meetings
• Administer and support the workflow when FTI is the general contractor
• Confirm project participants follow the approved BIM Execution Plan
• Work with project teams to resolve routing conflicts and installation sequencing
• Monitor coordination zones, model release dates, and trade signoffs
• Communicate unresolved issues and escalate as necessary
• Maintain accurate meeting notes and issue histories
• Confirm coordinated model information is available to fabrication and field teams

Working Relationships

• Senior VDC Coordinator: Provides day to day direction and technical guidance
• FTI Project and Business Leadership: Provides project requirements and delivery priorities
• VDC Operations Manager and Supervisors: Coordinate model production support
• Engineering, Design, and EPC Teams: Coordinate design information and model updates
• General Contractors and Trade Partners: Exchange models and resolve coordination issues
• Fabrication and Field Teams: Align coordinated model deliverables with field execution needs
