Role Description

Ramboll is seeking motivated and inquisitive candidates to join the Environmental Market in our Los Angeles, CA office.

• Develop and review sustainable land use and master plans, including sustainability elements such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water and waste management.
• Critically review and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations and advise clients on evolving regulations and zoning and building codes.
• Perform greenhouse gas inventory development and verification activities.
• Assist clients in voluntary greenhouse gas and sustainability reporting activities, in alignment with standards and frameworks including CDP, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and others.
• Analyze sustainable site plans and greenhouse gas mitigation measures and propose strategies to reduce community-scale environmental impacts.
• Evaluate applicability and feasibility of industry-standard sustainability programs.
• Actively participate in a growing network of Ramboll sustainability practitioners.
• Present project proposals to community, stakeholders, and planning authorities; facilitate meetings with developers, officials, and the general public.
• Telecommuting is permitted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Science/Studies or a related field.
• 10 years of experience as Sustainable Development Planner, Urban Planner, or related occupation.
• Special skills in developing sustainable master plans, creating policies for building development, implementing sustainability programs, performing greenhouse gas accounting, and planning stakeholder engagement.

• Developing sustainable master plans for communities, including energy efficiency, building design, district energy infrastructure, water recycling, and waste management.
• Creating policies for commercial and residential building development.
• Implementing sustainability programs, including developing plans, establishing baselines, and setting targets.
• Performing greenhouse gas accounting, forecasting, and modeling.
• Developing policies focused on deconstruction, building materials reuse and recycling.
• Designing and implementing incentive programs for decarbonization, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.
• Planning and implementing stakeholder engagement including public, industry, employee, homeowner, and customer-facing.

Benefits

• Anticipated base salary range of $127,000 to $130,000 yearly.
