Role Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in underwriting review, risk assessment documentation, application file analysis, eligibility criteria, financial or insurance records, instruction-based task design, and structured evaluation. This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on AI-assisted review of underwriting-related documents, forms, tables, decision materials, risk summaries, and related visual content. Selected professionals will create complex evaluation tasks using underwriting-style materials, define clear expected answers, and develop objective rubrics for assessing response accuracy, instruction alignment, and domain understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwriting Task Development
    • Create complex tasks based on underwriting files, application materials, risk summaries, eligibility documents, forms, tables, and decision-support records.
    • Define clear ground-truth answers, acceptable response criteria, and objective evaluation standards.
    • Develop prompts that test underwriting document interpretation, risk reasoning, information extraction, criteria application, and careful instruction following.
    • Ensure each task is clearly scoped, realistic, and suitable for structured review workflows.
  • Risk & Application Document Review
    • Evaluate AI-generated responses involving underwriting records, application files, financial or insurance materials, eligibility tables, forms, and supporting documents.
    • Assess whether responses correctly interpret applicant details, risk factors, coverage or eligibility criteria, financial figures, document labels, dates, and task-specific instructions.
    • Identify missing details, incorrect interpretations, unsupported assumptions, weak risk reasoning, or inconsistencies in the response.
    • Review outputs against objective rubrics and project-specific quality standards.
  • Rubric Design & Quality Control
    • Develop clear rubrics that explain expected answers, grading criteria, and acceptable variations.
    • Provide structured written feedback on task quality, response accuracy, and evaluation consistency.
    • Apply detailed instructions carefully across underwriting, risk review, and document-based evaluation tasks.
    • Participate in onboarding, calibration, or domain alignment activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in underwriting, risk review, insurance operations, lending operations, mortgage review, financial services, compliance support, or related documentation work.
  • Strong ability to interpret application files, eligibility criteria, financial records, insurance documents, risk summaries, tables, forms, and decision-support materials.
  • Comfort working with precise instructions, objective criteria, and structured evaluation standards.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain task expectations and review decisions clearly.
  • High attention to detail when assessing accuracy, completeness, and instruction alignment.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
  • Consistency across repetitive, detail-oriented review and rubric-based evaluation tasks.

Educational Background

  • Academic or professional background in finance, insurance, risk management, business, economics, real estate finance, compliance, operations, or a related field is highly relevant.
  • Experience with underwriting files, application review, insurance records, loan documentation, risk summaries, eligibility criteria, policy materials, or financial tables may be especially valuable.
  • Training or professional experience involving document review, risk assessment, decision-support workflows, quality control, or structured evaluation is relevant.
  • Advanced underwriting, insurance, lending, compliance, financial operations, or risk review experience may support project fit depending on scope.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating assessment tasks, training materials, review guides, documentation standards, or structured evaluation rubrics.
  • Familiarity with underwriting criteria, risk classification, eligibility review, coverage analysis, loan review, policy documentation, or application processing.
  • Experience reviewing financial records, insurance forms, mortgage documents, application files, tables, risk reports, or decision-support materials.
  • Comfort identifying ambiguity, missing information, unsupported assumptions, inconsistent risk logic, or interpretation errors.
  • Strong ability to design objective criteria for evaluating complex underwriting or risk document reasoning tasks.

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply underwriting and risk review expertise to structured remote project work.
  • Contribute to high-quality underwriting document review, task development, and rubric-based evaluation.
  • Use application file interpretation, risk reasoning, and evaluation design skills in a focused project environment.
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with underwriting, risk assessment, and structured document review strengths.
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation.

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role.
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling.
  • Eligible professionals may be based in approved project locations, including Canada and the United States, depending on project needs.
  • Part-time commitment, with an estimated 15–20 hours per week depending on project availability and onboarding status.
  • Competitive rates up to $40 per hour depending on expertise, underwriting background, task quality, and project scope.
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance.
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
