Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Brokerage/Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting and brokerage teams. This role involves:

  • Assisting in the placement of difficult-to-insure risks
  • Evaluating insurance applications
  • Preparing quotes
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer applications and documentation management

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in excess and surplus insurance

Requirements

  • Assist in evaluating insurance applications and underwriting risks
  • Prepare quotes by analyzing carrier underwriting guidelines and market acceptability
  • Assist in pre-rating and selecting the correct policy language for insurance contracts
  • Manage documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting and brokerage standards
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, markets, and retail insurance broker clients via email and phone
  • Submit brokerage applications and follow up on required documentation to secure bindable quotes
  • Collaborate with a team to support quoting for new business and renewals
  • Organize and maintain accurate documentation in internal systems
  • Track and follow up on outstanding submissions and quotes
  • Assist in streamlining processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
