Role Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Truckload Specialist to join our growing logistics team. In this role, you will execute core transportation and freight brokerage functions that support efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused freight operations. The ideal candidate has prior freight brokering experience, strong market knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Bachelor's degree or coursework in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field (Preferred)
• 1–2 years of freight brokerage or transportation logistics experience (Preferred)
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, carriers, vendors, and business partners
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
• Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues professionally and efficiently
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Sound judgment and strong decision-making skills
• Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical business practices
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and transportation management systems, load boards, and other web-based logistics platforms
• A desire to continue learning and developing expertise within the transportation and third-party logistics (3PL) industry

Requirements

• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability
• Utilize market pricing knowledge to manage maximum buy thresholds
• Source carrier capacity using load boards and transportation management tools
• Oversee the carrier onboarding and vetting process, ensuring compliance with safety, insurance, and regulatory requirements
• Execute strategic carrier procurement to secure reliable transportation capacity
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve transportation issues in a timely manner
• Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders
• Track and contribute to key performance metrics to support operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with team members by sharing knowledge, supporting department initiatives, and contributing to company goals
