[Hiring] Technical Operations Engineer @Stripe

Role Description

Become a domain expert in Connect and Risk and Compliance areas of Connect.

• Handle inquiries from internal Stripes and external partners' technical teams with detailed investigation and sometimes code changes.
• Organize and direct complex technical changes as part of product releases and merchant onboarding and migrations.
• Identify and automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes by making direct code changes, or coordinating more complex code changes across Stripe.
• Design alerting systems using existing tools to respond to incidents quickly, or prevent them altogether.
• Conduct data analysis to understand the impact of risk and compliance interventions on the users and surface future product opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in Technical or technical user-facing roles.
• 2 years of experience in developer tools including git.
• 2 years of experience in scripting and automation skills including Ruby and Python.
• 2 years of experience in writing tooling and automation, including testing and idempotency.
• 2 years of experience in observability tooling including metrics (Prometheus, Datadog), logging (LogScale), and distributed tracing (Honeycomb).
• 2 years of experience in incident response, on-call rotations, runbooks, and postmortem processes.
• Experience using SQL and relational databases including PostgreSQL or MySQL for operational tasks.

Requirements

• Salary: $137,000.00 - $205,600.00 /yr.
• 40 hrs/week.
• 100% Telecommuting permitted.
