[Hiring] Technical Assistance Consultant @American Institutes for Research

Role Description

AIR is seeking a Technical Assistance Consultant to join AIR’s Healthcare Innovations program, which focuses on supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Innovation Center in implementing and evaluating payment models. This specific position will support AIR’s work to provide technical assistance to states, providers, or other entities that participate in the payment models. The work involves a combination of designing and conducting technical assistance activities and resources, as well as developing communications to support information sharing through a variety of modalities. This position has the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, assessing, and tracking the technical assistance needs of program participants.
• Creating plans to address technical assistance needs.
• Applying subject matter expertise or policy translation related to the program to develop technical assistance resources, including:
  • memos
  • tipsheets
  • factsheets
  • checklists
  • templates
  • policy or review guides
  • frequently asked questions
  • case studies
• Developing, hosting, or supporting webinars and office hours.
• Designing communications for a variety of audiences and modalities.
• Documenting technical assistance processes and procedures.
• Facilitating discussions with program participants to identify participants’ progress toward program milestones, develop strategies and guidance to ensure participant success, and synthesize common themes across participant discussions.
• Leading meetings and presenting information to team members and clients.
• Managing content within an online collaboration website to support program participants (e.g., resource library management, chatter posts).
• Compiling and interpreting engagement metrics related to program activities and communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience; Master's Degree and 4 or more years of experience; Doctoral Degree.
• Experience designing and conducting technical assistance activities and resources, such as briefs, guides, toolkits and webinars for a variety of audiences.
• Experience developing communications for newsletters, online collaboration sites, and public-facing websites.
• Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis, such as for online surveys and interviews.
• Experience translating policy into practical and actionable information for various audiences.
• Experience delivering technical assistance for Medicaid programs and/or state Medicaid offices.
• Knowledge of and experience working with behavioral health practices and clinicians, including integrated care delivery.
• Knowledge of health information technology at the provider level.
