Role Description

This position completes tasks associated with posting, adjusting, and monitoring patient accounts receivable. The position proactively researches, identifies, and rectifies any circumstance affecting delayed submission or payment of accounts. It communicates accounts receivable issues proactively to management to ensure compliance and accuracy. The position performs various administrative and clerical duties needed to support revenue cycle functions as needed and provides daily oversight and leadership to the Posting Leads and Specialists for all regions. The position reports to the Director, Cash Management.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manages time to complete work in a timely manner and be a team player.
• Meets productivity requirements as established by the organization and external benchmarks.
• Completes posting of all payments and adjustments at the patient account level in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures accurate month-end balancing and is responsible for ensuring all regions meet month-end.
• Proactively engages other operational personnel to review and resolve issues as needed.
• Provides professional assistance for patient billing calls.
• Effectively uses the billing system to document patient accounts using proper grammar, spelling, and syntax.
• Keeps up-to-date with current payer guidelines and reimbursement policies (basic knowledge).
• Maintains strict confidentiality.
• Communicates with team members in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner.
• Treats staff, physicians, visitors, and patients with dignity and respect.
• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission & Value Statement.
• Manages day-to-day operations and procedures related to posting.
• Provides oversight for patient collections (bad debt internal and external) across all regions.
• EFT/ERA set-up.
• Monitors analytics production reports.
• Creates workflows for optimal productivity and efficiency.
• Primary contact for posting leads, managers, accounting, etc.
• External site management (Alle, Care Credit, etc).
• Manages employee hiring, training, performance reviews, productivity monitoring, time off/scheduling, and performance management.
• Provides direct oversight for all of the posting leads.
• Leads monthly team meetings.
• Participates in audit and process improvement projects.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other essential duties as assigned.
• Travels to locations as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• Five years of payment-posting experience in a medical setting.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience.
• Knowledge of third-party billing and collection requirements, including Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care.
• Extensive experience posting recoupments and reversals.
• Ability to read and interpret Explanations of Benefits (EOBs).
• Strong communication, critical-thinking, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
• Professional, team-oriented, and results-driven.
• Ability to handle complaints diplomatically and perform effectively under pressure.
