Role Description

This position involves managing and overseeing formulary administration specialists and operational formulary processes.

  • Manages, mentors, and provides supervisory guidance to formulary administration specialists.
  • Oversees operational formulary processes, configuration, and implementation activities for all Commercial, Part D, Medicaid, and Marketplace lines of business.
  • Provides technical and workflow support, intake assessment, assignment, and quality review of formulary work product.
  • Coordinates inter and intra-departmental and external inquiries surrounding past, current, and future plan year audits and maintenance.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures for Formulary Administration and Strategy.
  • Maintains and updates policies, procedures, and job aids for Formulary Administration Specialists.
  • Manages and contributes to priority projects, programs, or initiatives as defined by leadership.
  • Provides direct client consultation on formulary maintenance operations, programs, and software.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely task estimation and status reporting to management.
  • Executes tasks within the confines and timeframes provided by CMS, which may include non-standard business hours.
  • Performs other reasonable tasks related to this job or to tasks in other departments as needed by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Over 2 years of related pharmacy benefit management or healthcare experience and/or training.
  • One year of supervisory experience required or 2 years MedImpact experience can be substituted.
  • Knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn MedAccess and claims adjudication logic.
  • Pharmacy Technician license or equivalent experience.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).
  • Ability to respond promptly to client needs and solicit feedback to improve service.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations.
  • Prior experience in PBM formulary setup and maintenance, relational and analytical database management programs required.
  • Laker platform experience required.
  • Ability to execute and deliver within the confines and timeframes provided by CMS and State government entities.
  • Advanced Drug Information experience preferred.
