Role Description

This role is presented as part of a referral program to identify experienced Database Administrators (DBA) for a high-priority project focused on real-world database administration. Freelancers will perform hands-on database operations across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, contributing to AI model development in areas such as:

• SQL querying
• Systems administration
• Performance tuning
• Indexing
• Optimization

This short-term, remote contract is well suited for DBAs with practical, production-level experience who want to apply their skills to applied AI training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator working in production environments
• Expert-level SQL skills and proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or SQL Server
• Strong background in performance tuning, security, data integrity, and schema design
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., SOX), data export formats, and backup tooling
• Comfortable handling large datasets, interpreting execution plans, and managing database infrastructure end-to-end
• Ability to produce production-quality scripts and documentation for technical audiences

Requirements

• Hourly Rate: USD $75 - USD $100/hour
• Contract Duration: Through end of February (extension possible)
• Commitment: minimum 30 hours/week
• Location: Fully remote
• Payment: Weekly payouts via Stripe Connect, based on hours logged
• High performers are prioritized for future AI Finance, LLM Evaluation, and Modeling projects
