Role Description
This role involves providing expert technical support and delivering maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for turbocharger products.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of turbochargers and their components per manufacturer instructions.
- Inspect turbochargers for wear and damage, diagnose mechanical issues, and determine necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, reconditioning, and parts replacement to optimize turbocharger performance.
- Write comprehensive reports on turbocharger condition and the work performed.
- Verify that all maintenance and repairs meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
- Offer technical advice to customers both onsite and remotely.
- Lead small teams of technicians as needed, guiding productivity and skill development.
- Be prepared for up to 75% travel, including domestic and occasional international trips, with occasional weekend work.
Qualifications
- Recognized electrical or mechanical certification from an accredited trade school, military training institution, or associate degree in a related field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with turbochargers (ABB, MAN, NAPIER, MET, etc.), marine diesel engines, or similar mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of turbocharger systems, effective problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to write detailed technical reports.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
