Role Description
As a Workday Analyst - Payroll at Avantor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our Workday payroll system's optimal configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. Your expertise will contribute to resolving existing configuration challenges, leading testing initiatives, and preparing the Avantor payroll team for future advancements. The role significantly focuses on enhancing payroll processes, delivering accurate reports, and providing timely time-tracking support.
- Configure, test, and maintain Workday Payroll, Compensation and/or Time Tracking modules.
- Partner with key stakeholders to gather requirements and implement system enhancements, integrations, and reports.
- Manage system updates, including Workday semi-annual releases.
- Develop and maintain business process workflows, security roles, and notifications in Workday.
- Act as a functional lead for Workday Payroll, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance.
- Configure and troubleshoot Workday Time Tracking rules, accruals, and calculations.
- Lead and manage Payroll, Compensation and/or Time Tracking testing efforts.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and Workday updates.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Workday experience with a focus on Payroll, Compensation and/or Time Tracking.
- Strong knowledge of Workday configuration, business process design, and reporting.
- Experience supporting Americas payroll regulations (U.S., Canada, LATAM).
- Hands-on experience with Workday EIBs, calculated fields, condition rules, and security configuration.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Workday Payroll, Compensation, and/or Time-related modules.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Workday reporting tools and data extraction, manipulation, and visualization techniques.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Requirements
- Workday Absence, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, or Expenses experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with third-party payroll integrations (e.g. Safeguard) is a plus.
- Workday certifications in Payroll, Compensation /or Time Tracking are a plus.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
- Experience working in a multi-country, multinational organization.
