[Hiring] Senior Technical Business Developer, Kuiper Ground Infrastructure Design and Construction @Amazon

Role Description

Project LEO is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The LEO Ground Infrastructure Design and Construction team is looking to scale ground locations globally. As a member of the Design and Construction Team, you will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that enables LEO to achieve its long-term mission.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Writing, negotiating, and managing design and construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
• Communicating risks and monthly business updates related to site design and construction to the larger organization
• Managing a portfolio of global sites under active design (topo surveys, geotechs, power/fiber, construction drawings and building permit filings and approvals)
• Managing a portfolio of global sites under active construction (site grading, power, access roads, conduits, concrete, and fencing)
• Driving continuous improvement for future site designs and construction as lessons are learned
• Resolving design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
• Interacting with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Accustomed to a fast pace site deployment / launch environment experience ideal
• Core operational responsibilities include ensuring consistency in processes, reporting, forecasting, and data integrity with respect to the project buildout
• Highly developed oral and written communication/people skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Able to travel as needed (up to 30%)

Basic Qualifications

• Travel up to 30% of the time
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering, or 4+ years of project management and implementation experience
• Experience in contract management
• Experience in project management, or experience in construction

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
• Experience leading engineering teams as a mentor or tech lead
• Experience driving new business segment or services launches
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience working in international cross-functional teams
• 3+ years of satellite communications ground systems and operations experience
