Role Description

The Solutions Architect team is comprised of staff with various skill levels in various knowledge domains related to all the solutions in the Command Center suite. The Solutions Architect team delivers technical solutions by collaborating with Project Managers, Application Specialists, other Solutions Architects, customers, software developers, and any other resources needed to ensure the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate programmatic, technical, systems engineering, business, and personnel elements of a project.
• Understand the technical requirements, concepts of operation, and architecture of the overall solution.
• Work closely with the Pre and Post-Sales teams to align the requirements with customer solution needs.
• Lead and defend the project's technical and programmatic decisions.
• Identify customer expectation mismatches and work with the Project Manager to mitigate them.
• Tailor and apply change management and systems engineering processes.
• Work with the customer and engineering teams when implementing solutions, including third-party applications.
• Assist Project Management in developing and managing costs and schedules by identifying technical risks to the deployment plan and suggesting mitigation options for those risks.
• Participate as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager for third-party, customer, and internal meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or an Associate's Degree in a technical or engineering field and 6+ years of technical or engineering experience; OR 8+ years of experience in delivering Public Safety projects in a technical role or enterprise-level technical deployment projects.
• Excellent presentation skills, highly skilled with drawing and diagramming tools (such as MS Visio or similar).
• Strong verbal and written skills; fluency in English.
• Willing to travel, occasionally, ~ 25% of the time.
• This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Requirements

• High School diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, or Technical field, plus 6+ years of Engineering and Technical experience, is required for this position.
• Candidates without a College Degree must have 8+ years of Engineering or Technical experience to qualify for this position.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
