Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Risk Professional to join our team and provide expert risk advisory across key areas, including:
- Change management
- Policy guidance
- Incident management
- Control identification and development
- Risk training
- General risk advisory
You’ll play a vital role in embedding a strong risk culture, ensuring our fast-moving environment balances agility with effective risk management. This is a hands-on role that requires a solid understanding of technology risks, particularly within software development and financial services. You’ll need to be a strong communicator, capable of translating complex risk concepts into practical guidance that resonates across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Change & Policy Advisory: Provide risk support and guidance on change initiatives, ensuring policies and controls keep pace with evolving business needs.
- Incident Management: Support and guide the business in effectively managing and learning from incidents, ensuring robust risk response and mitigation.
- Control Development & Oversight: Identify, design, and enhance risk controls to support a resilient and scalable risk management framework.
- Risk Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver engaging risk training to upskill teams and embed a proactive risk culture.
- Technology Risk Expertise: Advise on risks associated with software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and third-party technology providers.
- General Risk Advisory: Be a trusted advisor, partnering with stakeholders across the business to assess risks and provide practical solutions that align with business goals.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a risk, compliance, or governance role, preferably within fintech, payments, or software development.
- A strong understanding of technology-related risks, including software development lifecycle risks, cloud security, and operational resilience.
- Ability to distill complex risk concepts into clear, actionable advice for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort working at pace in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks and developing practical, business-friendly solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a remote-first environment, with strong self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to collaboration.
