Role Description

Investigates, evaluates, disposes and settles the most complex claims and highest exposures with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:

• Investigation, determination and evaluation of coverage, liability and damages.
• Setting of proper reserves.
• Exercising proper judgment and decision making to analyze claims exposure.
• Determining the proper course of action and appropriately settling claims.
• Interacting extensively with various parties involved in the claim process.
• Clearly communicating concise action plans and presenting plans for moving cases to conclusion.
• Demonstrating complete knowledge of the claim file process.
• Processing claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures and best practices.
• Complying with statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.
• Recognizing and pursuing excess insurance recoveries.
• Handling a full case load, including cases of increased severity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5 years related claims experience required.
• Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
• Computer experience with related claims and business software.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
