Role Description

As a Senior PLM Consultant, you will lead and deliver complex Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) transformation projects for top-tier manufacturing clients in Germany. In this senior role, you act as a trusted advisor and solution architect, guiding organizations through the implementation of PLM systems, primarily PTC Windchill, to optimize their product development processes.

• PLM Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end PLM implementation and upgrade projects – from initial assessment and requirements gathering through solution design, configuration, and go-live.
• Business Process Consulting: Analyze current product development processes and translate business requirements into effective PLM solutions.
• Solution Architecture & Design: Define client-specific PLM solution architectures and develop solution concepts that leverage out-of-the-box PLM functionality.
• System Implementation & Integration: Oversee the configuration and customization of PLM software to meet client requirements and guide technical teams in setting up PLM modules.
• Data Migration & Validation: Supervise and support PLM data migration activities and ensure the integrity and completeness of product data in the new system.
• Change Management & Training: Collaborate with change management teams to facilitate user adoption of new PLM solutions and conduct user training sessions.
• Project Management & Team Leadership: Act as a Project Manager or workstream lead, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring project milestones are achieved on time.
• Client Engagement & Pre-Sales Support: Cultivate strong relationships with client stakeholders and support business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in PLM consulting, solution architecture, or implementation.
• Deep functional and technical knowledge of one or more major PLM systems, primarily PTC Windchill.
• Strong understanding of product development and engineering processes.
• Hands-on experience integrating PLM with other enterprise systems.
• Fluency in English; German language proficiency (B2 level or higher) is highly preferred.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud-based PLM solutions or SaaS PLM deployments.
• Proficiency in Agile project delivery and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Vendor or industry certifications are advantageous.
• Prior consulting or implementation experience in relevant industries.
• Familiarity with adjacent domains such as ALM, model-based systems engineering, IIoT, or Industry 4.0.
