Role Description
This role involves driving the strategic vision and execution of governance, risk, compliance, and trust management initiatives at Drata.
- Shape the product journey, user experience, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Provide feedback to ensure solutions exceed compliance needs.
- Champion process optimization and enhance operational efficiencies.
- Oversee the development of mature compliance programs.
- Proficiency in industry-related audits (e.g., SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
- Familiarity with GDPR, data privacy, and data security regulations.

- Champion Continuous Improvement: Drive strategic initiatives to automate and enhance compliance operations.
- Maintain Oversight and Accountability: Provide executive-level oversight of compliance-related functions.
- Inspire Customer Confidence: Respond to customer inquiries and ensure timely delivery of necessary artifacts.
- Foster a Culture of Proactive GRC: Collaborate on initiatives like policy management and risk management.
- Drive Clear, Strategic Communications: Articulate the “why” behind controls and processes.
- Establish Robust Standards, Supported by Repeatable Procedures: Create and maintain a comprehensive GRC Program.
- Stay at the Forefront of Innovation: Explore emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Shape Drata’s Future: Redefine compliance in a modern environment.
- Mentor and Lead High-Performing Teams: Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier talent in GRC.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience as a GRC professional.
- 5+ years leading GRC teams.
- Extensive experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and NIST standards.
- Ability to provide compliance guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Great interpersonal skills for collaboration across disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
- Experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
