Role Description

CyrusOne is looking for a talented, innovative, and connected individual to advocate the company’s objectives on energy policy and infrastructure issues across the Americas. The Senior Manager, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs will be a key contributor in the development of CyrusOne’s policy positions and advocacy strategy, and coordinate the team's advocacy for these positions.

Develop and execute advocacy strategies that support CyrusOne’s energy and grid infrastructure policy priorities in states across North America.
Contribute to energy policy advocacy efforts within CyrusOne including coordinating and developing collateral such as policy position papers and talking points.
Work with internal and external stakeholders as well as experts to identify opportunities and risks arising from policy and regulatory development.
Facilitate meetings between CyrusOne and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and alliance partners to promote CyrusOne’s advocacy positions.
Craft and contribute to policy submissions and engage in consultations with relevant regulators.
Provide expert advice to internal business partners and assist them in developing their respective business strategies.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience representing an energy company, working as or for a policymaker or regulator on energy issues, or representing an energy trade association.
Experience leading energy policy initiatives at the state and federal level.
Experience working with various institutions of government, including with state regulatory dockets and regulatory intervention.
Depth of experience in policy research and strategy development.
Experience working with and at the highest corporate, federal, state and local government levels.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Demonstrated ability of good judgment and thoughtful decision-making, and political acumen.
The ability to travel based on business needs. (25%-50%)

Requirements

Demonstrated passion for innovative thinking about energy and related infrastructure.
Track record of conducting business according to the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity.
Self-starter with a proven record of accomplishment of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures.
Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others.
History of working both independently and as part of a broader team with internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Energy, etc.)
Master’s degree preferred
